Docklands sits right on the Yarra and Victoria Harbour, about two kilometres from the CBD, and it's still a suburb that's being built out precinct by precinct. Nearly everyone here lives in a tower. There's no real "street" feel like an older suburb has, it's mostly waterfront promenades, harbour walks, and buildings still going up alongside ones that have been finished for years.
Most Docklands moves come down to the same three things as any high-rise suburb, the lift booking, the loading dock window, and whatever the building wants to see on paper before letting a truck in. What's different here is the wind. The gap between the towers funnels harbour wind through pretty hard on some days, and it can slow down anything being carried across open ground between the truck and the entrance.
Then there's Marvel Stadium sitting right in the middle of the precinct. AFL games, cricket, concerts, whatever's on, it can bring in over fifty thousand people on a single day, and the roads around the stadium get blocked off. Worth checking the fixture list before you settle on a moving date, especially if your route runs anywhere near the stadium precinct.
