Ring A Mover Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to all moving, packing, storage, and related services provided by Ring A Mover.

Agreement to Terms

By booking a service with Ring A Mover, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These terms apply to all moving, packing, storage, and related services provided by Ring A Mover. Please read them carefully before confirming your booking.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please contact us before proceeding with your booking.

Definitions

"Company" refers to Ring A Mover.

"Customer" refers to the person or business booking the service.

"Service" refers to any moving, packing, unpacking, storage, or related service provided by Ring A Mover.

"Goods" refers to any items, furniture, boxes, equipment, or belongings handled by Ring A Mover as part of the service.

"Moving Day" refers to the agreed date on which the service is carried out.

Bookings and Confirmations

3.1 A booking is confirmed only when the Customer receives written or verbal confirmation from Ring A Mover.

3.2 Ring A Mover reserves the right to decline any booking at its discretion.

3.3 By confirming a booking, the Customer agrees to these Terms and Conditions in full.

3.4 The Customer is responsible for ensuring all details provided at the time of booking including addresses, access conditions, item descriptions, and special requirements are accurate and complete.

3.5 Any changes to booking details must be communicated to Ring A Mover as early as possible. Changes made within 48 hours of the scheduled service may result in additional charges or rebooking requirements.

Quotes and Pricing

4.1 All quotes provided by Ring A Mover are based on the information supplied by the Customer at the time of enquiry.

4.2 Hourly rates apply from the time the crew arrives at the pickup address to the time the job is completed at the delivery address.

4.3 Fixed-price quotes, where provided, are binding only when confirmed in writing by Ring A Mover.

4.4 Additional charges may apply in the following circumstances:

  • Stairs, lifts, or long carry distances not disclosed at the time of booking
  • Items not included in the original booking
  • Waiting time caused by the Customer or third parties
  • Access difficulties at either property
  • Additional packing materials required on the day
  • Furniture items weighing more than 80-90 kg
  • Special or delicate items charged extra

4.5 Ring A Mover will advise the Customer of any additional charges before proceeding where possible.

4.6 All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST unless stated otherwise.

Payment

5.1 Payment is due on the day of service at the time of completion. Ring A Mover reserves the right to request payment before unloading, during unloading, or upon final completion of the job.

5.2 Ring A Mover accepts payment by cash or bank transfer only. Card payments are not accepted.

5.3 A deposit is required for every job prior to the service date. The deposit amount depends on the type and size of the move and will be confirmed at the time of booking.

5.4 Payment over invoice is not accepted unless Ring A Mover agrees to this arrangement in writing for special circumstances.

5.5 Ring A Mover reserves the right to withhold the release of goods in storage until all outstanding payments are settled.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

6.1 Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled service will receive a full refund of any deposit paid.

6.2 Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled service may result in forfeiture of the deposit or a cancellation fee equivalent to two hours of the applicable hourly rate.

6.3 Cancellations made on the day of the service may incur a fee equivalent to a minimum of 2 to 3 hours at the applicable hourly rate.

6.4 Ring A Mover reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a service due to unforeseen circumstances including but not limited to severe weather, vehicle breakdown, or crew unavailability. In such cases, the Customer will be notified as soon as possible and offered an alternative date or a full refund.

Customer Responsibilities

7.1 The Customer is responsible for ensuring that all goods to be moved are properly prepared and ready for collection at the agreed time.

7.2 The Customer must disclose any items that require special handling including fragile items, antiques, pianos, pool tables, and high-value goods at the time of booking.

7.3 The Customer must ensure clear and safe access to all properties involved in the move, including adequate parking for Ring A Mover vehicles.

7.4 The Customer is responsible for obtaining any permits, lift bookings, or strata approvals required at either property prior to moving day.

7.5 The Customer must ensure that all items being moved are legally owned by them or that they have the authority to move those items.

7.6 Ring A Mover will not move prohibited items including but not limited to:

  • Hazardous or flammable materials
  • Illegal substances or items
  • Perishable food items
  • Live plants or animals
  • Firearms or weapons

7.7 Customers must inspect all items before the Ring A Mover team leaves the premises. Any damage must be reported immediately at the time of service, either verbally and/or in writing. Claims made after the completion of the move will not be accepted. In cases where the job is completed late at night, any damage must be reported in writing by the next day. Any claims made after this period will not be considered.

8

Liability and Damage

8.1 Ring A Mover takes all reasonable care when handling the Customer's goods. However, the Company's liability for loss or damage is limited as set out in this section.

8.2 Ring A Mover carries insurance coverage for goods in transit. Customers are encouraged to confirm the details of this coverage at the time of booking.

8.3 The Company is not liable for damage caused by:

  • Pre-existing damage to goods not disclosed at the time of booking
  • Items packed by the Customer in boxes or containers
  • Fragile or high-value items not declared at the time of booking
  • Normal wear and tear associated with moving
  • Circumstances beyond the Company's reasonable control

8.4 Any damage claims must be reported to Ring A Mover in writing within 24 hours of the completion of the service. Claims reported after this period may not be accepted.

8.5 The Customer is responsible for the cost of repairing any damage caused to either property by the Customer's own actions or by items that were improperly packed or prepared.

8.6 Ring A Mover's maximum liability for any claim shall not exceed the value of the goods as declared by the Customer at the time of booking.

Storage Services

9.1 Storage services provided by Ring A Mover are subject to additional storage terms which will be provided at the time of booking.

9.2 The Customer is responsible for ensuring that all items placed into storage are legally owned by them or that they have the authority to store those items.

9.3 Ring A Mover is not responsible for items stored that are prohibited under these Terms and Conditions.

9.4 Storage fees are charged in advance for the agreed period. Failure to pay storage fees may result in restricted access to stored goods.

9.5 Ring A Mover will provide reasonable notice before any changes to storage arrangements, including facility changes or rate adjustments.

9.6 Unclaimed goods left in storage beyond the agreed period and after reasonable notice has been given may be subject to disposal in accordance with applicable Victorian legislation.

Australian Consumer Law

10.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by and must be read in conjunction with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) as set out in Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).

10.2 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy the Customer may have under the ACL, including consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded by law.

10.3 Where Ring A Mover fails to comply with a consumer guarantee under the ACL, the Customer's remedies are limited to those available under the ACL.

10.4 To the extent permitted by law, Ring A Mover limits its liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee to the resupply of the service or the cost of having the service supplied again.

Privacy

11.1 Ring A Mover collects personal information from Customers for the purpose of providing moving and storage services.

11.2 Personal information collected will not be shared with third parties except where required to deliver the service or as required by law.

11.3 Ring A Mover handles all personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

11.4 Customers may request access to their personal information by contacting Ring A Mover directly.

Disputes

12.1 In the event of a dispute, the Customer should contact Ring A Mover in writing at info@ringamover.com.au in the first instance.

12.2 Ring A Mover will respond to all written complaints within 5 business days and will work in good faith to resolve any issues promptly.

12.3 If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, the Customer may refer the matter to Consumer Affairs Victoria or the relevant state consumer protection body.

12.4 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia.

Changes to These Terms

13.1 Ring A Mover reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time.

13.2 Updated terms will be published on the Ring A Mover website and will apply to all bookings made after the date of publication.

13.3 Customers are encouraged to review these terms before each booking.
